Time limit: 365 days

Full course description

CBTp is a popular, well-researched, therapeutic approach for working with individuals who experience psychosis. This form of therapy requires extensive training and commitment. This training is intended to introduce the foundational skills required to work with individuals who experience psychosis informed by CBTp. We refer to these skills as recovery enhancement practices for psychosis (REP). These are the common skills, principles, and strategies for working with individuals who experience psychosis in a way that supports recovery for providers working in a variety of settings. If we think about learning CBTp as happening in layers, this training prepares you for the day-to-day interactions and lays the groundwork to address the complexities of psychosis- trauma, communication difficulties, lack of awareness of illness, and more- with CBTp strategies. This training prepares therapists who wish to offer these additional layers of interventions. Once you complete this course, we encourage you to attend consultation meetings and pursue additional training opportunities to hone and refine your skills, leading to CBTp competence.
